A+ Technicians configure, upgrade and support PCs and PC software applications. More specifically, A+ Technicians configure and support PC hardware, PC software, and the Windows family of client operating systems within organizations today. Their specific responsibilities may include: maintaining computer workstations, connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment; evaluating and installing computer hardware, operating system software and software applications; providing problem-solving services to PC users; and performing data backups.
This course introduces the essential skills required of a microcomputer hardware and software service technician and covers the concepts necessary to achieve the CompTIA A+ Certification. Students learn the features of various hardware devices, as well as their configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices. Additionally, students learn how to use, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot and maintain the Windows family of operating systems.
