Beauty / Massage- Massage Therapy
The Massage Therapy diploma program at Medix College provides training for individuals looking for a rewarding career working in the healthcare and spa field. The Medix College Massage Therapy Program is approved by the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 and upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to write their Registration Examinations. The Registration Exams lead to Registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and the right to use the protected titles, “Massage Therapist” and “Registered Massage Therapist”.
Student will learn and develop the manual skills involved in utilizing various techniques involved in therapy. Students will also be exposed to other types of therapy practiced by other Regulated Health Professionals and will understand differing approaches, philosophies, and methodologies to treatment which increases the likelihood of inter-professional collaboration. Training will cover such tasks as assessing clients by conducting range of motion and muscles tests, proposing treatment plans and administering massage techniques.

The Early Childcare Assistant program at Medix College provides training for individuals looking for a rewarding career working in the Early Childhood Assistant field. Early Childhood Assistants (under the guidance of the Teacher) provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical and intellectual development through designing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum according to established guidelines.
The Early Childcare Assistant program was designed to equip childcare workers with valuable knowledge, skills and experience for employment as Assistants in day care centres or early learning centres. The program was designed to give students an overview of the responsibilities of an early childcare assistant and opportunities to perform those duties. It presents foundational skills needed for those seeking to move into an Early Childhood Educator program. The Program has been developed and accredited by NACC.

The Rehabilitation Physiotherapist Assistant Diploma program has been designed to provide students with a strong foundation to work under the supervision of a Physiotherapist. Inclusive of an 8-week clinical placement, the program provides a well-rounded combination of theory instruction and practical training from which the student can continually develop and apply their knowledge to skilled tasks and proper assessment procedures. Possible employment settings include hospitals, physiotherapy clinics, rehabilitation centres, long-term care facilities, sports medicine clinics, community health care agencies or other medical settings.

This program consolidates and replaces services previously provided by Health Care Aides, Home Support Workers, Attendant Care Providers and Respite Worker Training. Students learn about individuality of the person, role of the worker, assisting the families and household management.

The objective of the Pharmacy Assistant Program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions. Our graduates have been successful securing employment in a variety of pharmaceutical organizations. Usually Pharmacy Assistants work in entry level positions at pharmacy retail companies. They work under the supervision of the pharmacy technician or Pharmacist. Some of the responsibilities include ordering and receiving the inventory, filling prescriptions, receiving shipments and handling paperwork.

The Child and Youth Care with Addictions Support Worker program is designed to teach students the necessary practical skills and theory to work with adolescents, children and families with challenging needs such as social, emotional, behavioral and mental health concerns. Students will identify the importance of collaborating with colleagues within their field including educators, medical and social worker professionals, correctional staff and community partners. Fitness consultants perform initial fitness assessments to design exercise programs customized to an individual’s specific needs. They motivate clients, educate them on exercise and nutrition, and monitor progressions through regular re-assessments.

The objective of the Dental Administrator program is to train students in attaining skills and demonstrating competency in essential dental office procedures and administrative assistant skills. Our graduates have been successful securing employment in dental offices and clinics.

Health Sciences- Medical Laboratory Technician Assistant
The objective of the Medical Laboratory Technician / Assistant is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as a medical laboratory technician assistant. The program trains students to collect, process, and prepare patient specimens, enter data, perform clerical and reception services, perform electrocardiograms and urinalyses and carry out basic laboratory procedures.
Upon successful completion of the MLTA diploma program, graduates are qualified to write a third party examination and achieve their “Certified Lab Assistant” designation through the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) as well as the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (OSMT). All examinations are at the option and expense of the graduate and Medix encourages students to become certified.
